The Kokopelli was a deity of magic to the First Nation's people of the American Southwest where his image is recorded in stone petroglyphs throughout the region, some over 3000 years old. He would travel the land, telling stories and brining the gift of life by spreading the seeds of the new season from the bag on his back and warming the earth with the heat from his flute. He was also a prankster Casanova figure that embodied human fertility, sexuality, procreation and a passion for life and is associated with the vivid colors of the macaw.
